Alimentos Polar España received an award at the II Concurso de los Mejores Quesos de Madrid (II Best Cheese Contest in Madrid)
Alimentos Polar España participated in the II Concurso de los Mejores Quesos de Madrid, and the Guayanese cheese of the Antojos Araguaney brand was the winner in the fresh cheese category. This is the first time that this type of cheese has been included in the contest.
In this edition 43 products were nominated in all categories. The event was coordinated by the Qdequesos organization, with the support and sponsorship of the Community of Madrid.
The awards ceremony was held last Saturday, May 21, at a cheese market in the bullring of Moralzarzal, Madrid.
“We are very pleased that recognition is being given to cheese producers and especially that the category of fresh cheeses is being valued, products that are increasingly popular among Spanish consumers,” said Joanna Marín, marketing manager of Alimentos Polar España.
“We are proud that our cheese has been recognized for its high quality and delicious flavor, a product with a Venezuelan flavor that is making its way among the best cheeses in the city of Madrid and also in global gastronomy,” she added.
The Guayanese cheese, along with other presentations such as queso de mano, duro, semi-hard and telita, can be purchased at the P.A.N. Store, the online store es.allofpan.com, local ethnic stores and in all Alcampo supermarkets in Spain.
The award-winning categories were: goat, semi-cured sheep (up to 4 months), cured sheep (from 6 months), blend (goat, sheep, cow), soft paste and, as a novelty, the new fresh cheese category.
“We will continue working to build palates and make our flavors known in Spain,” concluded Marín.
